Purpose
Mentoring seeks to help the individual incorporate lessons learned vicariously from the mentor's own experience in order to develop the leadership and personal habits that are needed for ongoing effectiveness and required to reach their long-term goals. |
Coaching focuses on helping the individual surface solutions and formulate action plans for both immediate and long-term success. |
Method
Mentoring is based on personal, face-to-face relationship. Phone and email are available, optional ways to achieve growth, but they are considered supplementary to the regular interaction with your True Course professional in person. |
Coaching values a face-to-face relationship, but its goals can also be successfully achieved through phone or email dialogue. |
Experience
A mentor is highly trained in adult education and an experienced professional in both corporate and volunteer organizations who is trained to help develop the whole person. |
A coach has received coaching-specific training, and is involved in continuing coaching education in order to help individuals realize their own potential. |
Time Frame
The gold standard for the True Course mentoring experience's duration is typically two years, enabling you to establish a solid foundation, learn, grow, and practice principles determined with your mentor. (Varied durations are available according to individual needs). |
A True Course coaching experience ranges from one month to unlimited, ongoing sessions, depending on your specific situation's complexity and desired growth. |
