Consistently recognized as a uniquely gifted leader and expert coach, Dr. Michael Godfrey has worked as a mentor, coach, and educator with nationally renowned and successful businesses and non-profit organizations. His work has earned him recognition and accolades for helping individuals and groups reach their full potential both personally and professionally.

Dr. Godfrey holds the Professional Certified Coach credential from the International Coach Federation. He is a Coach U Graduate with 175 coach-specific training hours and more than 1,000 clock hours of coaching individuals to achieve what they really want in life.
Godfrey currently serves as the executive director of True Course Living, Learning, and Leading, LLC and True Course Ministries, Inc. Based in Robinson, Texas, both organizations specialize in customized mentoring, coaching, and consulting programs for unique demographics. Dr. Godfrey is the designer of True Course Mentoring, a nationally recognized, award-winning mentoring approach that recently received the "Malcolm S. Knowles Award for Outstanding Adult Education Program" award from the American Association of Adult and Continuing Education.
Dr. Godfrey also serves as a part-time lecturer in Christian education and leadership at the George W. Truett Theological Seminary at Baylor University, and he is an independent contractor with Truett's Doctor of Ministry program. He is a certified, experienced consultant for the Birkman Method©, and the author of more than 30 published articles and chapters related to his revolutionary work.
Dr. Godfrey holds a Doctorate of Educational Psychology with specialties in adult education, mentoring, creativity, and problem solving from the Baylor University School of Education as well as a Doctor of Ministry in church and education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary where he also earned a Master of Arts in religious education. In addition, he holds a Bachelor of Music Education cum laude from Baylor University. Dr. Godfrey maintains extensive continuing education in a variety of areas from coaching, human relations, group dynamics, and leadership exercises to conflict management, critical incident stress management, and parent education. He is a graduate of the Core Essentials Program at Coach U and the Advanced Coach training program at Coach U.
A native of East Texas, Dr. Godfrey has more than 35 years of experience in Christian ministry, and his previous positions include interim pastor, minister of education and business administration, associate pastor, youth minister, and music minister.
Dr. Godfrey and his wife, Susan, reside in Robinson, Texas, and have two grown children, Jonathan of Nashville, Tennessee, and Lauren and her husband Jeremy Gilbert of China Spring, Texas.
